Why am I running?
- I have a strong belief in the beneficial role that government can play in the betterment of our country and the lives of all of our citizens.
- I believe that role should be limited to creating and enforcing laws for the protection, health, safety and education of all citizens.
- I believe that the government is by the people and for the people and I want to do all that I can to work towards making that so.
Strengths
- I have a calm and cooperative nature. My career provided me with many years of training and experience in building collaborative, cohesive teams. I have developed network access across 'party lines' to successfully work together as a common "issue-based" team.
- I am a powerful problem solver. I am committed to hearing and understanding diverse points of view and negotiating to the best possible solution. I am skilled at seeing the 'big picture;' seeing the multi-dimensional aspects of issues and their links/effects on the whole.
- I am a 'stickler' for detail and am willing to commit the time required to research issues to enable me to deliberate based on the best available facts. And, a fast learner.
- I have strong process skills. I have many years training and experience in designing and implementing new processes to accomplish tasks in the most efficient, cost effective way.
- I am well trained and experienced in public speaking to groups up to thousands and skilled in making professional, articulate presentations of my ideas.
- I have a life-long involvement in politics. I understand the inner workings of political campaigns and government operations.
- I have a broad ranging view on issues. I have lived in 5 different states and one foreign country, which affords me a larger 'world view' experience.
